Hi! My name is Kevin Grist and this is my creative portfolio. I am a freelance artist and senior producer for digital arts projects.


I have 24 years experience working across all digital art forms. My specialism is audio technology and music.

In the last few years, I:

Co-founded and Directed the organisation between 2015-25. Produced and curated Electric Medway Festival for 5 years, including surrealist themed Augmented River in 2022, and Two worlds in 2024, exploring climate and crisis. Developed their new Strategy 2026-9: Creating a Power ⇧SHIFT.

have undertaken the role of Interim Executive Officer in 2026 to develop their 2026-8 programme of sector support, digital resources and oversight of Medway’s Cultural Strategy. Support for the Board and fundraising activity.

trained Medway Council’s library and archive staff on how to use VR and immersive technologies as part of the Docking Station outreach programme.

activated the first Luton Lights community event in Chatham as a producer with Ideas Test that included projection mapping and fire.

have been an advisor for the FUTURE PROOF Lab programme, that supports the development of new cinema and immersive projects, delivered by Doc Society and FACT Liverpool.

mentored podcaster Laura Bailey to develop audio storytelling techniques for her Creative Health Stories series.

delivered an immersive producer masterclass for Screen South, Folkestone and took part in a panel on AI at UK Creative Festival, Margate.

  • become an active member of the national Engage Network on Digital Practice, sharing learning on participatory digital arts
  • composed These pavements…a sound walk on Chatham’s heritage high street in collaboration with artist Jane Pitt, using spatialised audio
  • created Stories of Luton Road, a 360 visualisation of research and interviews carries out about health inequalities in Chatham, by University of Kent
  • won an award at Canterbury Christ Church University’s Hi3 Network for work supporting MSL’s virtual production The Wild Horn Fair with binaural recordings in Hastings.
